Congratulations to Laura Arreguin, our new Director of Community Engagement. Laura brings the trifecta of joy, knowledge and creativity to the team every day. We appreciate her sense of ownership and optimism - this promotion is well deserved. We couldn't do without her!
Laura's biography:
Laura Isabel Arreguin, a bicultural individual with a deep understanding of both Mexico and the USA, was born in Santa Rosa, CA. She spent her childhood life moving between the two countries, shaping her unique perspective. Laura is a wife and mother to a 20-year-old daughter and a 16-year-old son. Family time is precious to her, and she actively seeks opportunities to give back to her community.
With a rich background in the nonprofit sector, Laura has held various impactful roles. She has served as a Program Coordinator and Family Advocate at the Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County, Manager of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships at Corazon Healdsburg, Manager of Job Development at Goodwill, and a Bilingual Community Liaison at the Wright School District. Soon Laura will be filling a vacant position on the Commission of the Status of Women-Sonoma County for the 4th District.
Laura is a Healdsburg High School graduate, holds a Diploma in Administration from Empire College, and earned several certificates over the years. Currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Minor in Leadership and Management at the University of Phoenix, she is dedicated to furthering her education and skills.
Inspired by her father's teachings, mother's love, Laura is passionate about advocating for empowering those in need within her community. She firmly believes in the importance of recognizing the differences between equality and equity in creating a more just society.
And WELCOME Christina Rosa!
Christina joins the La Familia Sana team as our Health Network Navigator. This role is in partnership with Sonoma Connect/Sonoma Unidos and Community Action Network (formerly Community Action Partnership). Christina's role will allow La Familia Sana to enroll individuals and families into Medi-Cal/Medi-Care and Cal-Fresh while participating in closed loop referral system pilot, Resource Connection Network (RCN).
La Familia Sana's move towards Cal-Aim we will be able to bill Partnership for our Community Supports work i.e. Housing Transition, Housing Navigation and Deposits. Christina's knowledge and experience in billing, resources and referrals will be central to La Familia Sana. This has been a slow and new path forward for our small organization but incredibly important one towards sustainably supporting our Community Health Work.

Cristina Rosas was born in the town of Healdsburg, California, and raised amidst the scenic beauty of Sonoma County. Her roots trace back to Mexico, from where her parents hailed, bringing with them a rich cultural heritage that has profoundly influenced Cristina's life.
A proud mother of two, Conchita and Joseph David. Cristina's family has expanded to include her cherished grandson, Jeremiah Kekoa. Family plays a central role in her life, and she finds immense joy in spending time with her loved ones.
Cristina's academic journey led her to Healdsburg High School, where she laid the foundation for her future endeavors. Following high school, she attended Santa Rosa Junior College, furthering her education and preparing for a career in the healthcare field.
With over 20 years of experience in healthcare and outreach, Cristina has dedicated her professional life to helping others. Her commitment to making a positive impact on her community is evident in her long-standing service and the relationships she has built over the years.
Outside of her professional life, Cristina enjoys riding her bike, a pastime that allows her to explore the beautiful landscapes of Sonoma County. She also delights in taking her godchildren to the park, creating cherished memories and sharing the joys of childhood.
Cristina Rosas' life is a testament to her dedication, love for family, and commitment to her community. Her story is one of resilience, passion, and the simple joys that make life truly meaningful.
